Machu Picchu and Beyond

Explora is an understated 5-star property. It has the feel of a modern mountain lodge. Everything is included; the food is wonderful, the linens are lovely, the bar is top-notch, the guides are friendly and extremely knowledgeable and there are many different excursions from which to choose. I highly recommend Explora and we are considering staying at another Explora property.

Love Explora!

explora Valle Sagrado is fantastic! Has all the luxuries and special touches of all Explora properties - gorgeous setting, lovely buildings, knowledgeable and helpful staff, outstanding food, personal service... The explorations took us much deeper and closer into the culture of the Sacred Valley than we otherwise would have experienced if we just visited on our own. The guides were outstanding - knew so much about the culture and history. The entire staff gives such personal service - on our final day they created a biking excursion just for my children to fit our time frame. Explora wants people to explore, so it is an active, outdoorsy time, though we also lounged by the pool and enjoyed the spa.

Sacred Valley Sanctuary

Words can't describe the view of the hotel as you drive towards it because it is truly a perfect combination of the natural landscape and sensitive architecture that seeks to align the beauty of the surrounding majestic mountains with the outline of the hotel structure. The interior was just as impressive with a very tall building space and contemporary lines. Despite the large space, the warmth and homeliness of the lodge were not only embodied in the decor but in the many friendly staff who welcomed and ensured you were looked after every step of the way. The guides were experienced, friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly you always felt safe and taken care of on the hikes. The restaurant at the lodge had an incredible view over the expansive private corn fields and served an excellent menu throughout the day and evening. The fire was on during the evenings and as I sat there drinking my pisco sour and snacking on the canapes after a wonderful day of exploring the Andean countryside and mountains, my only thought was.... can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow.
